A Gentle Guide for Pet Families
When Every
Moment Matters
Senior pet photography - what to expect, when to book, and how to prepare
It doesn't have to
be a goodbye
A celebration of the bond you share
A Heart Warmer session isn't about saying goodbye. It's about saying I see you. You matter.
Most families book while their pet is still very much themselves, eating well, enjoying their walks, still lighting up when you come home.
They're slowing down
The walks are shorter, the naps are longer. You've started noticing.
Health has changed
A diagnosis, a scare, a vet visit that changed things. Whatever it was, you're paying attention now.
Celebrating golden years
The grey face, the cloudy eyes. Details you'll want to remember long after.
Creating a legacy
A photograph on the wall. Something to look at on the hard mornings. That's what this is for.
If you're reading this, you've already noticed something worth paying attention to.
When to book Sooner than feels necessary
A Heart Warmer session isn't a final farewell. It's a way of saying, you changed my life, and I want proof.
The best time to book is sooner than feels necessary. While they're comfortable and happy, and still very much themselves.
- Your dog is 7+ (large breeds) or 9+ (small breeds)
- They've been diagnosed with a chronic or terminal illness
- They've had a recent health scare or surgery
- You've noticed cognitive slowing or confusion
- Travel or long outings have become difficult for them
- You simply love them and want to hold onto this
Not sure if it's the right time? That's okay. Reach out and we'll talk it through, no pressure.
Your pet, exactly as they are
Nothing smoothed, nothing erased.
The grey around their muzzle. The cloudy eyes that still find you across the room. The way they settle into the sofa like it was made for them.
These aren't things we edit out. They're the reason you're here.
You might be wondering
What if they just want to sleep?
Perfect. Some of the most beautiful images happen in quiet rest. A paw tucked under their chin, the slow rise and fall of their chest.
What if they're on medication?
Give it as normal. We work around their routine and put their comfort first.
What if they have a bad day?
We reschedule, no questions asked. No deadline, no pressure. We put their comfort first.
What if I get emotional?
Most people do. That's okay, we'll carry on.
We're not here to stage a moment.
We're here to honour one.

Pre-session consultation
We chat about your pet, their personality, favourite spots, and any health considerations so the session feels natural.
You're welcome in frame
This is your story too. A hand resting on their back, a cuddle on the couch. You belong in these photos.
The reveal
Within 7 days we'll meet on Zoom to walk through your gallery together. You'll see every image for the first time and choose your favourites.
I'll come to you
Sessions can happen at home, right in the heart of their world. On the sofa they've claimed as their own, surrounded by everything that feels safe and familiar.
How to prepare Simple ways to set the tone
For your pet
- Choose their best time of day, when they're most alert and content
- Don't over-exercise them beforehand, save their energy for the session
- Give any medication as normal, especially pain relief
- Have their favourite treats and a favourite blanket or toy nearby
- No special grooming needed, we love them exactly as they are
Quirks, limits, and comfort signals
A few things to notice before your session:
- What do they do that always makes you smile?
- What sound makes their ears perk up?
- Where's their favourite spot to settle?
Tell me about these. I'll be looking for them.
What you'll receive More than files on a screen
You'll walk away with real things. Not just files on a phone.
Why prints matter
A photograph on your wall becomes something different over time. It becomes a place your eyes rest. A reminder that they were here, and that you paid attention when it mattered.
A framed print doesn't get buried in a camera roll. It's just there. On your bedside table, in the hallway, catching the afternoon light.
The images aren't just for now. They're for the mornings you reach for something to hold onto.
Ready when you are Your next step
They gave you everything. This is one way to say it back.
