The Story Session
The longer we spend together, the more they relax. And that's when the real portraits happen - not the first ten minutes, but the quiet moment twenty minutes in when they've forgotten the camera is there.
The Story Session gives us that time. Ninety minutes to move, explore, and find the images you'll actually hang on your wall.

A focused 30-minute session - unhurried, calm, and entirely theirs. Ideal as a first session together, or simply because right now feels worth remembering.

What's the difference between The Glimpse and The Story Session?
The Glimpse is a shorter, focused portrait session - ideal if you'd like a beautiful set of images without the extended experience. The Story Session is our signature offering: longer, more intentional, with a planning consultation beforehand and a personal Reveal afterwards where you choose your portraits and collections.
What happens at the Reveal?
After your Story Session, I'll prepare your portraits and book a short Zoom appointment (around 20-30 minutes). You'll see your images for the first time and choose which collection feels right. There's no pressure - it's simply the best way to experience your portraits rather than scrolling through a link.
Do I have to purchase a collection?
No. Your Story Session fee includes 3 digital images regardless. Collections are there if you'd like to expand your gallery and add artwork, but you'll never be pressured.
Can I purchase additional images?
Yes. Additional images are available from A$55 each, whether you've chosen a collection or not.
What's the artwork credit?
Each collection includes a credit towards fine art prints, canvases, or framed wall pieces. It's our way of encouraging you to enjoy your portraits beyond a screen. Your full artwork menu is shared at the Reveal.
My pet is nervous or reactive - can we still do a session?
Absolutely. I work with anxious, reactive, and rescue animals regularly. Sessions are always led by your pet's comfort level, and we take as many breaks as needed. This is something I genuinely love about this work.
What if my pet doesn't cooperate?
Pets are unpredictable - and that's part of what makes them wonderful. I'm experienced with every temperament, from shy to wildly enthusiastic. We take whatever time is needed in a relaxed, stress-free environment.
What if it rains (for outdoor shoots)?
Depending on your pet and the location, we can either embrace it or reschedule. I'll stay in touch leading up to your session to make sure we're set.
Where do sessions take place?
I offer both studio and outdoor sessions across Melbourne. If your pet has a favourite park or feels most at home in your own space, I'm happy to come to you.
Can I be in the photos with my pet?
Absolutely. Some of the most meaningful portraits capture the bond between you and your pet. Just let me know.
Is The Heart Warmer only for end-of-life pets?
Not at all. It's for any senior pet whose character and wisdom you want to celebrate. Many clients book simply to honour their older pet while creating portraits of this special stage.
How long until I receive my images?
Story Session galleries are delivered after your Reveal and collection selection. Glimpse galleries are typically ready within 2-3 weeks. Heart Warmer sessions receive priority editing with delivery within 7 days.
Can I upgrade from The Glimpse to a Story Session?
Yes. If you book a Story Session within 30 days of your Glimpse, you'll receive A$50 towards your collection.
